TITAN 2019 CABERNET SAUVIGNON – NANCY’S VINEYARD NAPA VALLEY

OAK KNOLL DISTRICT

VINEYARD NOTES

Nancy’s Vineyard is in the heart of the Oak Knoll AVA of Napa Valley. The vines are all Clone 6 (ideal for the Napa Valley Floor) and range from 20 to 25 years in age. The vineyard is sustainably farmed using no animal products at any time (vegan) and lean on organic compounds such as Seaweed to avoid pesticides and other harmful chemicals.

OAK KNOLL DISTRICT AVA: The Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley AVA is at the southern end of the valley floor and its proximity to the Ocean results in a climate that is cooler and more moderate, which leads bold iconic Napa Valley Cabernets that tend to be richer than wines made from other regions in Napa Valley. All those who visit Nancy’s Vineyard, which was named after a pet cow that once lived on the property, note that it is a truly special place.

TASTING NOTES:Rich, Silky, Bold, Spicy, and complex. This is a bold but softer and more balanced expression of the iconic Napa Valley Cabernet. Aromas of cherry, lavender, and cocoa with flavors of cherry pie, black currant, spice cabinet and soft tannins.

WINEMAKER NOTES: Grapes are hand-picked at night for morning crush. Fermented on the skins for 21 days before pressing off the skins. Malolactic bacteria are added at pressing to facilitate malolactic fermentation. Minimal interaction with the wine as it ages until bottling.

BARREL PROGRAM:Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in 50% new French Oak and 50% neutral French oak for 26 months. Majority of barrels are Centre of France oak from various coopers.

2013 VINTAGE: Optimal Ripening Brings in “Epic” Fruit “Early, even, and excellent” are three words being used to describe the 2017 vintage in the Napa Valley, reflecting the consistent quality for which this world-famous wine region is known. A warm, dry spring brought early bud break, helped with canopy vigor and berry size, and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set under sunny skies, resulting in notably healthy vines as fruit went through veraison and started ripening.
